Long Term Substitute- Grade 8 Social Studies Teacher- Effective January 6, 2025 through March 3, 2025.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Using the Stoneham Public School’s curriculum, plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students. Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes. Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified applicants must upload a cover letter, resume, transcripts, proof of MA DESE license as well as three current letters of recommendation
Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Education for the grade(s) and subject(s) assigned.
- Demonstrated subject matter competence, highly qualified, in the area of licensure.

- Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Create a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
- Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of every student.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate these objectives to students.
- Plan for and utilize instructional methods, resources, and evaluation techniques that motivate and enable each student to achieve learning objectives.
- Take all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Establish relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and the community which reflect recognition of and respect for every individual.
- Appraise his/her own effectiveness and demonstrate successful application of skills and information acquired to increase effectiveness. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Perform other duties as required.
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work involves student interaction and is performed primarily in a classroom setting, with prolonged periods of standing. Occasional periods of bending, stooping, and/or reaching may be required.
