Stoneham High School is seeking a licensed Biology Teacher to join our Science Department as a Long Term Sub with an anticipated start date in December 2024. Ideal candidates have experience teaching Biology at the high school level. Preferred candidates will have an understanding of inclusive practices and an ability to teach to all students and their unique learning needs and styles.
Responsibilities include:
- Extensive knowledge in the content area;
- Experience/interest in Biomedical/Forensic Science
- Design lessons with clear, measurable goals; plan and implement effective lessons that engage students in active learning.
- Ability to communicate high standards and expectations to students, families and stakeholders.
- Ability to plan formative and summative assessments that inform instruction;
- Must be able to incorporate higher order thinking skills into lesson planning;
- Direct instruction of laboratory safety practices and skills, and frequent incorporation of investigative and summative labs into the curriculum.
- Collaboration with members of the department is essential.
- Experience with Universal Design for Learning is preferred.
- Familiarity with lab protocols and procedures
